My SL Feed - July 2013

From First, to Last, all of my SL Feed posts from July 2013. Some of them have fun links :-)

If we could propose an anthem for SL, my votes would go for this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZyhrYis509A (Barbie Girl)

« I'm a blond bimbo girl, in a fantasy world
» Dress me up, make it tight, I'm your dolly
» You're my doll, rock'n'roll, feel the glamour in pink,
» Kiss me here, touch me there, hanky panky...
» You can touch, you can play, if you say: "I'm always yours" »

(Full lyrics: http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/aqua/barbiegirl.html - Isn't this song just brilliant?)

I better clean my pixels before SSB is switched on. Wouldn't want problems rebaking because of that! (Happy Tuesday!)

I'm a complete music illiterate, so I've started to be educated in the topic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vZLVJwXP-U

This is the cutest partnership-wedding-whatever vow I've ever read:
«I promise to learn how to build so that our home will no longer fall from the sky when I decide to edit.»

At times, when I listen to people complaining because they don't want (they say "need") to learn all the basics first, for all they need (they say) is to just find a tutorial that shows that exact thing they want to model, I can't avoid imagining a person about to have surgery and the surgeon saying "I don't need to learn all the basics of human anatomy first... Just tell me where I should cut to open, and I will learn the rest as I need it." (I know, I'm a boring old school academic.)

It's not that I'm a curmudgeon. It's that I pride in collecting an extensive variety of pet peeves.

Did I hear, "Martini Time"? (Happy Tuesday!)

"Soon in my life I understood I had been a mistake. I tried hard to be loved. I walked like a shadow so I would not bother."

"I only wanted to be a little girl and daydream in my naive inner world."
[Link to the original post in my feed]

"But I had to renounce to dreaming and be the dream of the life you never had. I worked hard."

"I did everything you wanted. I locked myself in the cage you wanted for my mind."

"And now, after twenty years of abandonment, you say you're proud of me? It's too late, father."

Interesting. The word "troll" only shows in the headline, not in the article: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-tyne-22839359

The relationship, then?(Of course, neither the media manipulates, nor others use the only apparition of the word, the headline, to manipulate themselves.)

Note: Related links not contained in the article using the word "troll" don't account
as the word "troll" showing up in the article itself.

(I once had a similar thought... I got a student from someone that I thought was a friend... and when that student started being a huge pain, I first wondered "What have I done to this person, to send me such a nasty student?" It turns out, the "friend" hated me!)

I'm not sure I have a brain at all. More than ten years since I started gardening, and today I've had this bright idea: "wait... perhaps... if I put the bag inside this big trash can, I will not have so many problems to drop inside all the leaves, etc from sweeping, the lawnmower... OH DOH!" (How did I manage to survive until today? Good thing that breathing is automatic.)

There are details to polish here... but I think I have the foundation for my own "mirror" :-)

I think I could get used to this skin.

When I was a teen, purchasing a walkman meant purchasing a device that would only play music. How, nowadays, purchasing similar devices means to carry an advanced machine that by default tracks you and sends a lot of information you're not aware of, makes me wonder. Specially, about why we are eagerly accepting this as something normal in our lives.

Often I feel like the ant of that fable: working all the summer to then spend the winter quietly at home, harvesting your hard work's fruits. What the fable doesn't tell you is that in autumn you will likely have your house flooded because of the rains. So a bit of time spent in the pool, learning to swim, isn't a bad idea after all.
